These heavy-duty stainless steel mandrels are versatile for mounting your lapidary discs and wheels. Several varieties are available including standard, screw-thread, and wide heads for large separating discs or wheels. Mandrels are reinforced to allow more pressure without the shaft failing, and stainless steel to ensure a long service life without rusting.
Mandrels come with different shank sizes and arbor hole dimensions. To ensure safety and true running be sure to match the screw capacity of the mandrel to the arbor hole of your accessory, and that the diameter of the mandrel’s shank fits your handpiece collet or chuck.
- Use 5mm mandrels for small discs and accessories and 8mm mandrels for larger sized discs and mini-wheels.
- Shanks are 3/32in to fit Dremel, Foredom, and other quick-change and standard rotary handpieces.
- Supported speed range of 15000-20000rpm during use.
Maximum and recommended speeds depend on the type and size of accessory, as well as the mandrel in use. In general, smaller accessories and mandrels can be used at higher rpm speeds than larger accessories and mandrel, follow the recommendations that come with both the accessory and the mandrel you are using.
